Through the internal promotion of our SENDco to Deputy Headteacher, we are looking to appoint a highly effective, forward thinking Special Education Needs and Disability Coordinator. We are looking for someone who ensures all pupils with SEND make good academic progress from their starting points and promotes inclusion across the school.

 

Bellfield Infant School is an inclusive Nursery - Year 2, two form entry school with a Day Care, who serves 2-3 years old. We are commitment to making a difference to the lives of our pupils and the community it serves.

We are looking for someone who has:

· has a proven track-record for implementing successful strategies and processes that support inclusion in inner-city infant/ primary schools

· Experience as a qualified SENDCO, with an excellent understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, other relevant SEND legislation and statutory guidance

· Has the innovation and ability to motivate and inspire all of our children with a love of learning

· Is driven to make a difference and contribute more widely to whole school improvement

· Experience in Early Years and KS1

· An excellent understanding of the National Curriculum and it's impact on pupils with SEND.

· An ability to lead, review, develop and implement policy change

· An ability to, effectively liaise with pupils, colleagues, governors, parents and outside agencies

· Confidence to lead on staff training in SEND and professional development.

· Developed outstanding inclusive practice through their ethos, their practice and their contribution to implementation of PEEPs and accessibility plans.

· Experience coordinating of applying for SSPPs, EHCPs and their application

· Arranging and managing budgets and funding assigned to pupils with SEND
